GEOX unveils an astonishingly elegant collection for the Spring-Summer 2020 season which puts an unusual slant on some of the most standout trends of the season and raises the bar even higher in terms of technological research. The brand’s remains ever faithful to a set of values that have separated it from the rest from the very start and enable it to strike a perfect balance, season after season, between curated Italian style, well-being and functionality.

White, black, yellow and red are the primary pop colours that brighten the brand-new knitwear-and-leather sneakers with a light flexible design and a Velcro fastening; just like all Geox models, the anatomic shape and breathable outsole make them outstandingly comfortable. The other huge novelty for the season is the début of the feminine version of the famous AERANTIS model. An overwhelming success in the men’s collection, it has been refined with fresh lines, but still boasts the sophisticated breathing system on the upper and outsole which makes it a fine example of GEOX technological innovation.

The combination of white and vibrant hues is without doubt one of the main hallmarks of the collection and turns up on many other sneakers which are brightly hued and unapologetically sporty in a mixture of mesh and leather and a metallic palette of teal blue or orange, for example; but this combination sits equally well with the urban-looking cupsole which is a great classic updated with tones of fuchsia-pink, blue or sea-green velvet.

Soft to the touch and easy on the eye, the velvet comes in the same vibrant colours and enhances the sandals with a wedge and platform in jute with a glamorous touch. On the other hand, suede leather returns to detail the fun-looking striped espadrilles and especially the neon-hued slingback sandals with a black trim on the dressy low-heeled version but also on the sportier-looking one with a sturdy white outsole. Suede leather also crops up on the models with soft rounded silhouettes featuring an ankle strap which fastens with a metal buckle – a style which also has a white rubber outsole or alternatively a sculptured column heel.

The collection then veers towards the warm natural hues of the savannah with animal-skin patterning and ethnic prints. So, we have slingbacks with crossover fronts, a high heel, and a small original wood-print platform; or a lower heel and ankle straps; or a flat version with a strikingly attractive metal-stud embellishment running along the side of the outsole. With metallic hues that give way to softer natural ones, the strappy snake-skin sandals feature a contoured platform with a sleek rounded silhouette; then, there are animal-printed suede sandals with a jute platform, turning up again on the espadrilles and original-looking models with tassel detailing.

Extremely fashion-forward and highly elegant in a geranium-red and metallic-green palette, the ethnic prints adorn other espadrilles and high and low sandals all set on a jute platform or wedge. Last of all, this typically summery touch gives way to equally refined models with an urban vibe, like the buckled ballet flats with a square heel, the slinky mules, the court shoes or sandals made in a deep-green python print, or sandals with crossover straps for a really stylish return to routine.
